Fashion week is indisputably the biggest event of the fashion world. Twice a year, designers from all over the world come together to showcase their latest collections and set the trends for the upcoming season. But when exactly is fashion week, and how do you get tickets? Let’s take a look.

When Is Fashion Week?

The “Big 4” fashion weeks of New York, London, Milan, and Paris (in that order) typically take place twice a year, once in February/March (a preview of the coming Fall/Winter collections), and again in September/October (a preview of Spring/Summer collections). In between there are menswear collections, bridal, and swim collections, haute couture collections in Paris, and more than a few international fashion weeks — a full list is here.

How Do I Buy Tickets?

Fashion week is mainly for industry people (buyers and press) and influencers. However, tickets to fashion week can be purchased through Fashion Week Online®. (Click the images above for each market.)

Prices vary based on location and type of ticket– VIP tickets will cost more than general admission tickets– so make sure you check out what different venues have to offer before deciding which ticket to buy. It’s also important to note that certain shows may not be open to the public at all; those shows are typically invitation-only events that require press credentials or special access.

What Else Should I Know?

If you’re planning on attending a runway show during fashion week, there are a few things you should know. Firstly, most fashion shows start on time so it’s important that you arrive early in order to get a good seat (or standing spot), unless you’ve received a seat assignment. Often a seat assignment will come in the form of a QR code through Fashion GPS. For independent designers, admission tickets can be as low as $50-$100 per show and offer access to standing room only or even seated areas for runway shows. For larger productions, Front Row tickets can go up to $500-$1,000 per show and offer access to premium seating on an assigned, or first-come, first-served basis. Finally, VIP/Press Access tickets and packages (such as those to NYFW: The Shows) can run $1,000 or more per show and offer reserved seating close to the runway (in addition to other exclusive benefits).

How to Get Tickets
